HEAT + VIPER

Read this manual all the way through before you use your unit for the first time. It is short and it tells you how to keep the unit working.
Follow every safety instruction in it, every time you use the unit. The battery warning below applies to every use, not only the first one.
Night Operators is not liable for damage to the unit or for injury caused by not following these instructions. If anything in this manual is unclear, stop and email us before you carry on.
WARNING
Do not charge with the 18650 battery inside the unit while connected to USB C. Remove the 18650 before charging or using the unit on USB C.

Power: the HEAT and VIPER run on their built in rechargeable battery, charged by the included USB-C cable. The optional 18650 cell and its external charger are not in the box. Bridging a PVS-14: The HEAT and PVS-14 pair on a simple rail bridge held by two screws. It works, but it is not a true dual dovetail bridge. WARNING

Before the first night
Charge for two full hours from a wall outlet before first use, and again whenever the unit has sat unused. The units have no charging light. The battery icon on the screen is the only charge indicator and it can show full at around 80 percent, so give it the full two hours. Charge from a wall outlet, not a power bank.
Never point a powered unit at the sun, a laser or any bright light. Keep the lens cap on when you are not looking through it.
Do not open the housing. An opened unit is outside the warranty.
Do not touch the glass. Use the lens cloth from the box.
Two identical units on the bridge
The 2X VIPER Bridge and the HEAT and VIPER Bridge use two monoculars of the same shape. There is no left unit and no right unit. Mount them with the IR illuminator and battery side of both housings facing to the right. On a HEAT and VIPER pair, put the HEAT on the right eye and the VIPER on the left eye. If the images do not line up, push the two units closer together on the rail first.
